While there is no replacement for a well taken photograph...you can't deny there is a power in a well edited image. While editing can correct and enhance the image, it also sets the mood. We are in a very visual world, where we are blasted with 4K quality and computer animated graphics. This sets the bar quite high for the average viewer. In the end, the most important fact that I consider in editing is my desire to for visual harmony, or unity. My process is to eliminate distractions that can take away from the visual message or story. It's not about altering reality, but rather focusing it, and sharing what is needed to create visual cohesion.
